Another reason the US taxpayer should stand with the people of Egypt.

This is a summary of a fascinating piece on US ties to Egypt (there's a link on the page to the streaming audio of the full story).  The first part- about Hillary Clinton's cozy personal relationships with Mubarak and his family- is a fine example of just how close global elites have become to one another.  But the second part- about the US defense industry's close ties to the Mubarak regime- is the truly scandalous piece.  The American taxpayer pays billions to arm Egypt with missiles, helicopters, and aircraft carriers, all in the name of "stability" in the Middle East.  Now the defense industry is worried that Egyptian people will install a government that isn't interested in being paid in weapons to advance US foreign policy in the region.  I would wager that they have good reason to worry.  And it's about time...
